Angel receives a phonecall from Harlow concerning...inappropriate wordchoice from Hadraniel. Hadraniel then appears himself, but seems unwilling to listen to advice.

4/27/2016 6:00 PM
Hyperion Hotel San Francisco

[Phone] Harlow Tjader is trying to call you.

You may wish to pose or emit the phone ringing if you are in a scene.

[Phone] Angel answers the phone.

[Phone] Angel says, "Angel Investigations, how can we help you?"

[Phone] Harlow Tjader says, "Hello. This is Doctor Tjader at Mercy Hospital, I believe we met once, previously, at your... property. You gave me your card."

[Phone] Angel says, "I remember. What can I do for you?"

[Phone] Harlow Tjader says, "I was wondering whether you knew a young man who goes... variously by different names. He first introduced himself to me as Oliver, and then as Erik. He is, I believe, presently homeless, and possibly emotionally disturbed."

[Phone] Angel says, "I don't know anyone of those names. Can you give me a description of him?"

[Phone] Harlow Tjader says, "He's of average height, brown hair, bearded, blue eyed. He may also go by... Ha-- Hadrianal? A strange name, I barely caught it when he said it to me."

[Phone] Angel says, "...Now I know who you're talking about. That's the name I know him by. What would you like me to do?"

[Phone] Harlow Tjader says, "To do? Nothing. I only thought I should call, you see, he came to my apartment and was carrying on in a way that was, frankly, alarming. He claimed to be an angel, and then went on to claim that you were a vampire. I think that the man is in need of real psychiatric care. At any rate I thought you ought to know that his delusion involves even you, as it might reflect poorly upon you or upon your business to have a fellow wandering the city spouting such mad nonsense."

[Phone] Angel says, "I understand. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will certainly take appropriate measures to protect the integrity of my business."

[Phone] Harlow Tjader says, "You're quite welcome. Have a good evening, Detective Angel."

[Phone] Harlow Tjader ends the call.

Hadraniel returns to the Hyperion some time after his visit with Harlow, but before the sun fully sets. So whatever time that would be. He doesn't look like a happy camper as he pushes through the front doors, but rather than his usual tactic of slipping off to his room to be alone, he sets out to find Angel, checking in all of the usual brooding spots.

As the sun has not yet set, that forces Angel to be well out of the line of fire of stray rays of Sun, so he's towards the back of the main room, in a particualarly dark corner. Where there is, in fact, great brooding going on. Because, what else is new?

When Had spots Angel, he heads in that direction. In typical 'angelic' fashion, he skips the niceties and goes straight to the point. "Did Uriel or Castiel come here to talk to you?"

Angel nodded. "Yes, Uriel came and...had a few things to say. Apparently, there's a Wendigo who's been doing things to you he doesn't approve of. I've managed to figure out that's not an order from the top, though. It's a personal request from him."

Hadraniel nods a little, listening to this with a distant frown. He takes a deep breath when that is revealed, and nods slightly. "Well, I'm making a personal request that you stay out of it," he replies. "It's my problem. I want to deal with it myself."

Angel watches the man. "How do you mean to deal with it yourself? If you are being manipulated, you don't have the strength you once did to recover from it."

Hadraniel shakes his head. "I'm not being manipulated right /now/. Castiel healed me. And I don't intend to eat anything else that I haven't prepared for myself," he explains, impatiently. "And I'm not convinced that she knows what she is. I intend to watch her and see what she does."

Angel considers. "First, tell me the name of the person they're worried about, if you know it. Uriel didn't have a name for me." Because something seems...odd here.

Hadraniel crosses his arms, looking at Angel with a suddenly calculating look. He's not very good at being duplicitous, that's for sure. Stubborn, though... Stubborn he can do. Stubborn is right in the angelic wheelhouse. "No," he says. "If you don't already know, you're not getting it from me."

Angel considers that, and..."Fine. I also received a phonecall earlier this evening. You've apparently been...speaking of facts that are better left unsaid to most of the world."

That catches Hadraniel off guard. He seems non-plussed, blinking slowly as he takes that in, and finally asks, "Phone call from whom? What are you talking about?"

"Harlow Tjader. She's a medical doctor who claims you were in her apartment, claiming to be an angel and then saying I am a vampire. She seems to currently believe you are insane and require treatment for delusions." Pause. "You may have been telling the truth about both of those of those things, but most of humanity is not 'in the know' about the supernatural world. Most people believe everything you and I are to be fake. Well, some people believe in angels, but nobody expects to ever see one or be told they're talking to one. And most people don't believe vampires exist at all. So running around claiming you know one isn't going to go over well."

Hadraniel narrows his eyes a little at all of this, and lets Angel have his say. In the end, he simply capitulates with a simple, "Fine." He glances away, toward the staircase wherever it is, and then back toward Angel. "You won't have to deal with me much longer. I interviewed for a job this morning. I think it went well."

Angel nods. "If you've gotten a job, that's very good. But remember what I said. Don't mention anything supernatural at all while you work there, or they'll also react very poorly. Okay?"

Hadraniel looks at Angel impatiently. "Are you going to leave me alone to deal with my problem? Or are you going to become another of my problems?" he asks, bluntly, rather than respond to the instructions.

Angel was actually trying to pre-emptively stop a problem by making sure Hadraniel didn't get fired from his new job. "...Go do what you need to do."

Hadraniel watches Angel for a long moment, unconvinced, but he finally gives a sigh and turns away. Someday, he will learn to give a proper human farewell. Today is not that day! Instead, he walks to the stairs and heads up for his room.

Angel sighs. He's been in the help those in need business long enough to know there's one kind of being you can't help, down in the land of Free Will. The being that doesn't want help.
