Adam gets attacked by a Water Demon. Angel and Ainsley rush to help, but the water demon's lack of physical body to attack makes things interesting.

Golden Gate Park San Francisco

Golden Gate Park[]

The western side of the park features a number of athletic fields, open meadows, and lakes. Also located here are the Golden Gate Park Stadium in the center of the area and Murphy's Windmill near the southwest corner. By contrast, the northwest corner features the Queen Wilhelmina Tulip Garden and the Dutch Windmill. This area also features a dog training field, senior center, model yacht racing area, bison paddock, and equestrian center. For fishermen there are the fly casting pools and Anglers Lodge, and of course the park has its own golf course. Amidst the more grown-up diversions, a playground can be found along the south side of the park. The western edge of the park stands atop the cliffs of the coast, overlooking the shimmering Pacific Ocean.

The eastern entrance to the long stretch of Golden Gate Park is preceded by a block-wide strip of parkland extending eight blocks towards down. Here, a gate offers one of the many access points to the park itself. Major features in this area are the children's playgrounds and carousel, tennis courts, several sports fields, and the large Sharon Meadow. A bit farther in one can find the Conservatory of Flowers, the oldest glass-and-wood Victorian greenhouse in the Western Hemisphere and home to more than 10,000 plants from around the globe. Several buildings, such as the California Academy of Sciences and a few museums, are housed in the center beyond the Garden of Shakespeare's Flowers, and near the western edge of this area of the park is the Japanese Tea Garden.

The park is a world away from the city, with enough trees to feel like a forest broken up by cobbled paths and dirt trails in between broad lawns and playgrounds. There are several large ponds or small lakes, and even a waterfall or two. It is cool and peaceful here, and it's large enough that even though the park is very popular there always seems to be room for everyone.

The evening stars are out.

In summer, daytime temperatures approach an average of 75?F. Plants and flowers are in full bloom thanks to the warm summer weather. It's overcast and warm.

The last of the sun's rays had just retreated into darkness, Adam had been looking for various reagents and doing a little bit of research with the firm inention to be out of there before nightfall. Ofcourse as usual the teen in the My little Pony T-shirt and jacket, had totally lost track of time and was busy focusing on a water sample, that's he's reasonably sure is the remains of some sort of water demon. He has the usual weapons on him as well as potions, but they're all hidden rather well which make the teen look rather yummy to those who want to nom on innocents.

The REMAINS of a water demon? If only. Alas, the darn thing was just dormant. While it wasn't sure that its own body could apparently used as a feeding lure, it's perfectly happy to take what it can get. The only warning is a sound, sounding vaguely like standing on the beach when the surf's up, crashing waves and all. And that's when the creature shoots a blast of water out of its limb, with force fully equivalent to a firehose connected to a hydrant, attempting to smack the young human so it can eat him.

Fortunately, the lad wasn't alone in the park. Also in the park was a Silent Protector, a Watchful Guardian, a...brooding vampire. Who proceeded to run in towards the demon...it'd take him a bit to get there, cause he couldn't smell the water demon coming. It smelled like water after all.

Ainsley is follows Angel out of cover at a speedy jogging pace and not really a sprint, but she does seem to move pretty quick and keeps pace with him. She has her hair tied back and a determined frown on her face. "Running in like this doesn't feel very smart!" she says, a little wary of anything that uses abilities that suggest a lack of a tangible physical form.

The 16 year old doesn't look like much, in fact he looks like prime meat for most demons, but unlike your typical teen once he's knocked back he doesn't go into shock, or flail idly. Instead he uses the skills his brothers and other hunters have been teaching him and does a bit of an acrobatic move spinning on his back, he doesn't pull out a weapon though and instead focuses on evasion while mumbling to himself, "Lack of physical form.... I don't know any magic to bind it... Enchanted sponge? Don't think i have any of those... Trick it into a potion bottle? Unlikely. Poison it?" HE still hasn't noticed the others racing towards him his attention purely on the /THING/ in front of him.

It lacks a physical form, and since it's not a blood demon, he can't just drink the thing. But Angel still has one advantage the other two don't have. He doens't need to breathe. So he tries to jump through the thing...and succeeds! Except passing through the demon's body doesn't seem to have done much to it. It doesn't seem to care much at all that a vampire just jumped through it, other then to aim a water blast at Angel. Angel is fast enough to dodge, letting the water hit a tree.

"This could be challenging." But hey, it's what happens all the time around here.

Okay, there's the lack of a physical form to contend with. What does she have on her to deal with that...? Ainsley is sorely underequipped to deal with a water demon, and so she keeps her distance once she's near enough to the fray so that she can dodge if it targets her, clearly on edge around something that could probably kill her no matter what form she picks. "Hey, kid," she calls over to Adam, "Are you alright? You seem like you know what you're doing, you know what this is?" She noticed he was acting oddly for someone just attacked by a water monster.

Adam Milligan is trying to remember all he has on him when the woman checks in on him. "Just fine!" He has a grin on his face one that is oddly reminiscent of Dean's to anyone who has met him. And a look at Angel tells Adam who that is. Dean's mentioned him, plus there aren't that many people who patrol parks who aren't afraid of drowning. Suddenly something jumps into his head and he starts trying to jump and get to his bag cause he thinks he has just the answer for it in there. Unfortunately his bag was pretty much right next to where the water demon had started.

Angel realized he didn't have the tool to fight this particular enemy, but he was the most capable of getting close to it without anything permanent happening to him. Benefits to being undead. Spying the ids bag, and the way Adam seems to be looking at it, he rushed in again. This time he ducked down to grab it and throw it Adam's way.

Angel paid for that idea by being blasted into a tree in the face by the firehose level force. It's a VERY good thing he can't drown, with that much water pressure aimed at his face.

Ainsley couldn't feel more useless than she did when she saw Angel get decked by the water demon. She actually squeaks in girlish panic when she sees that, her eyes widened. Her eyes momentarily flash yellow, her anger bubbling up, but she restrains herself for a couple of reasons. One being that Angel can probably take it, and the second that it would do her no good to berserk on something that'd just ignore physical damage. So she keeps an eye on Adam so that someone has his back in case he needs to be pulled from the thing's clutches in the middle of the fight.

The teen manages to miss the bag thrown at him, but rolls over to it finally managing to reach it. and once he does he pulls out... A Coffee!.. To be exact a cofee to go, that you push a button on the bottom and it heats up the contents. Adam pops the top, and quickly while the other two are being distracting, pours in a quick mixture of herbs and chemicals into the can, and seals it up with what appears to be silly putty. He then shakes the bottle a few times and throws it towards the water monster.

Of course that left him sitting still for quite a while and no sooner had the can left his hand than he was treated to a blast in the chest that knocked him very force-ably towards a tree as well. Unfortunately the skinny teen doesn't have werewolf or vampire level endurance,And is out for at least a few moments. However when the can hits the creature, a second passes then a tiny whole eats through the side of the can. And The contents of the bottom of the can literally explode, as they react in a very volatile way to water.

Well, that worked. The Water demon had an explosion go off inside of it, and seemed to be actually wounded by the experience. This dropped the water blast aimed at Angel, who proceeded to cough up some water. Apparently some of it got inside and probably would've flooded his lungs if that had been at all relevant to his survival. Fortunately, it is not.

Coughing a little. "Throw more of that at it! It seemed to work!" Angel attacked the water demon again, using a hand to try to pull water out of where the explosion hit it. Unfortunately, he seemed to do little more good then getting the ground wet. The water demon was now focused on Adam, though, since he's the one doing damage, and aimed a water blast his way. Or it would've, but Angel got in the way, and got flung off again.

Ainsley gasped in surprise when the explosion went off, barely keeping up with what's going on. When she spotted Adam, prone and largely useless, and Angel having trouble with the water demon even then, she rushed over not to check on anyone but to grab up Adam's bag, dig through it and try to find more of the stuff that Adam used on the water demon, hoping she doesn't accidentally touch something werewolves are deathly allergic to in the process. She doesn't find more of it, but what she does find is a stun gun. A stun gun that she turns and immediately uses on the creature on impulse without much thought, because she knows that electricity is effective when it comes to elemental threats. She's played video games where that's a rule, at least!!

Between angel and his own training Adam isn't down for long , but he's also not up at full strength. He manages to stand up right at the same time as she shoots it, HE manages to yell out, "NOO!" just in time to see the electricity of the industrial level stun gun arc into the thing. The things swells up and Explodes as the elextricty vanquishes it and just leaves a sodden mess everywhere. The problem with this plan is that the gun was HIGH level so it was strong enough to work on out of control werewolves. So.... Now all that Water is electrified as well for at least a few seconds until the gun shorts out. Adam luckily was far enough away but was already running as fast as he could just in case. A Vampire and what he thinks is a werewolf should be okay. But he definitely wouldn't be.

Well, this is the part where electricity...travels through water. It's very conductive. And the last thing the water demon had done was attack Angel. So, the power of the electrical stun gun also hits the vampire, who is now should've been drowned and shocked. The extra water in his body didn't help with the second part, as the water exploded, inflicting more damage on the vampire. But vampires couldn't be killed that way, so he wasn't dust. He just looked like he'd had a delightful trip through Hell. "...Ow." Angel found himself laid flat on the ground from the combined assault.

Bzzzzzt-- Ainsley is mildly electrocuted by the end of all of that. She throws the stun gun in the midst of that off into a grass patch and collapses on the ground in a heap, since the ground was covered in water and that's why she got shocked. Not nearly as bad as Angel, of course. "Hhhokay," she says, "/Ow/," she agrees with Angel, recovering quickly and getting up to a stand, muddy and miserable. "At least it worked," she murmurs, "Oh... oh shoot, Angel, I'm sorry," she says, her eyes brightening up in surprise from the sight of him.

Adam Milligan dusts himself off or rather wrings himself out and looks over at the two, HE goes over to his sodden bag and pulls out an energy drink for Ainsley, "HEre you go home made. Assuming... Hrm Were something? And Lets see for Angel...." He pulls out an empty blood bag, where mostly empty there are some herbs and... other things in it, and he uses a little butterfly needle to extract some of his own blood, not a grat deal but enough for a mild snack. "There we go." He said bandaing his own arm, "These should help you both out.... The potion should heal you up quick enough, and the blood should keep you from going weak." He doesn't mention he's never had an opprotunity to try either mixture before.

Angel gratefully takes the blood...it's fresher then what he'd get with a blood bag, after all, and that's always good. He almost never took things straight from the source. He has the presence of mind to turn away, though. He doesn't like being watched when he...well, drinks. "...Thanks."

"Werewolf, the kind that can't really change quickly," Ainsley replies, after accepting the energy drink. She looks a little stunned by the boy's willingness to help patch them up and by how he rolls with the situation as if it were completely normal. "You remind me of someone," she murmurs, finally seeing his resemblance to Dean. She even smells it, but that would be creepy to mention! "Thanks."

Adam Milligan would normally be flirting with both Angel and Ainsley, but he's half drowned and tired, so he lets it slide just this once. "You Probably Know Dean... Or Sam. They're my brothers. That how I know who he is... And you're... " He know dean mentioned a name, but he can't quite remember it, "I know they told me you were from beacon hills. They also told me to stay away from that place without them, or that I'd end up a were chihuahua or something." HE then takes the vial he'd been planning to use originally and scoops up the remains of the water demon, after all waste not want not.

Dean? Angel does in fact know Dean. "Dean? I met him a while ago, yeah. He's been a good friend. I haven't run into Sam yet, I guess he's...somewhere else." He has no idea where, really. "Beacon Hills has a lot going on. It's best to...understand what you're getting in to if you're going to go there."

"I wasn't even a werewolf when I got ambushed by a pair of wendigos in the hospital there," Ainsley tells them, "Wish I had someone around to tell me about the supernatural stuff out there before I got mauled by a werewolf," she adds, between drinks of the energy drink, whatever its made of. "I met Dean somewhere in the middle there. One of the guys that helped me feel... 'normal' again, as much as I can. Gotta say..." She smiles over at Adam, her sense of humor shining through, "Way better first impression than the one Sam gave me."

Adam Milligan grins and nods, "Well I'm a little less hunter and a little more healer. Plus things have changed a bit. I've met as many cool and freindly supernaturals as i have one who want to eat me. Whole different vibe. " He shakes his head and looks at the time, "Dangit, bit late to be hitching a ride or ... borrowing a car. Got a place I could crash for the night?"

Angel halfsmiled, "Dean must've forgotten to mention I own a hotel. If you need a room to crash in, I can easily provide it. Follow me." Angel will lead Adam off towards Hyperion, if he accepts the offer.

"Yeah, let's get out of here," Ainsley says, turning to head back to towards Hyperion before Adam even decides whether to follow Angel or not.

Adam Milligan scrambles over to a park bench near by and grab a second back this one not wet, before running to cartch up still sopping wet, "Sound good to me. I live in a roadhouse so will probably be a lot nicer."
