After a long absence due to overprotective Kat, Elena finally meets up with Angel again.

The Hyperion Hotel[]
The lights are on, illuminating the area.
The California-Spanish building known as the Hyperion Hotel was built in the 20s. Through the cast iron gates from the sidewalk is a small front courtyard with a rectangular fountain and a mythological figure holding a bowl from which water flows. Greenery frames the walls and a large set of glass double doors open into a high ceilinged lobby. Dark red carpet descends the four steps to the lobby floor and climb the two sets of stairways that lead to the second floor. The green marble floors are accented with wavy red inserts, as are the walls have a complimentary red border running their length. A set of doors identical to those of the entrance lead to a small enclosed garden.
Cream-colored pillars line two sides of the room, holding up the second-floor balconies that look out onto the lobby and creating arches. Underneath one of them is a large plate glass window that looks into the hotel office - now used as the office and nerve center of Angel Investigations. Nearby, there's a wraparound counter with dark wood paneling and a top the same color as the floor. Behind it are filing cabinets and a pair of desks pushed together. A navy blue circular couch harkening back to a 50s design sits near the back of the lobby. A large wooden, glass-doored cabinet pushed up against the wall holds a large assortment of weapons.
Outside, it's clear, cool, and windy.
Elena Gilbert is with her shadow as always, Kat being very protective. But she's gone cabin crazy and just HAD to get out and so figured she could go to Angel's and at least get a workout or... something. Walking in the front door she looks around to see who is here if anyone
Angel's here, as it turns out! "Elena! I haven't seen you in weeks. If you were still worried about Glory, don't be. She's been dealt with." Which should hopefully take a load off the mind of both girl and elder both.
Elena Gilbert smiles slightly. "Glory?" Clearly way out of the loop. "Well that's good. Most of the worry was from Mik and just... my life." She brushes her straight hair off her shoulder and walks into the hotel. "How've you been?"
"I've been doing well. Lots of things have happened. Glory was the one causing the mess up in Beacon Hills. It should be safe for you to go back now, if you wanted to." But if not... "I haven't actually seen Mikhail in a while. Whatever he's doing, he's gone to ground lately."
Elena Gilbert ahs softly. "The headaches have been a bit less then before. But I am just being careful as I can be given what has become of my life." She'll be glad to hear about Mik. "Be better news if vampires didn't, you know, stop aging."
"Well, you can't live your life under a rock either. Kat can be a little too safety conscious, at times. Her vigilance has kept her alive a long time, but..." Well, there is the..."Wait, did you transfer schools? Beacon Hills has been going for a month, and Dawn has a lot of make up work to do."
Elena Gilbert purses her lips and nods. "No I can't. I just am feeling a bit..." she shrugs. "Skittish? I mean Damon, and Stefan and then Mik. I never thought I be relying on Kat as my main support. Then the magical transport that changed all my friends so they are the same but not." She waves off the question of school. "I'm doing fine and it's nothing to worry about."
Angel shrugged. Not his business. "We never found Stefan. Wherever he disappeared to, my seers aren't finding him, and magic isn't helping much either." He doesn't know about Damon, and Mik, he's just as glad to not see him. "Since you've been gone, Buffy returned. I don't think you've actually met Buffy yet. Faith and Eva and Cordy are all still here and doing fine. Dawn had to go back to school, so she's up north again."
Elena Gilbert sighs softly at that and shakes her head, "I've pretty much given up on Stefan. I mean... there was something there a while ago but now...." She looks at her hands and rubs at them a bit, "I figure it's good I got Kat at least." The new that Buffy is back gets her head up, "That is good news. I haven't met her but I heard a lot about her. Maybe we can get a girl's night and Kat will let me go if I got like two slayers as escort."
Angel halfsmiles, "If you get Buffy with you, you're as safe as may be in this world. She's been protecting normal people around her 5 years running, Having Faith around doesn't hurt either, if you can manage that. Eva's about ready to start patrolling herself."
Elena Gilbert asks, "They know about Katherine right? That we look the same and she is on the 'no stake' vampire list?" She'd be really upset if some over eager Slayer did that to Kat. To say the least. "Also not sure how 'normal' I qualify for Angel."
"Faith's known for a while, Eva's not a threat to her to begin with and she knows already, but I haven't been able to introduce Buffy to either of you. I've only told her there's a vampire with your description who's not evil and she has a mortal identical twin. I'd feel more comfortable if she met the pair of you in a safe environment before you sprung Kat on her. She's had a rough time lately, with her sister in lethal danger all the time." So yeah, Angel feels Buffy's been under VERY high stress lately
Elena Gilbert agrees about that, "If Buffy is as seasoned as you said she should be fine and able to pick up on things so we can all be safe and know what page we stand on." She frowns about the stress thing and asks, "Anything I can do to help with maybe? I know what it is like having a younger sibling."
"She'll be fine. Her major source of stress is gone. I'm sorry you missed the party. The Fae threw a bash for everyone who helped take Glory down. Must've had over 20 people of various types there." Heck of a party, that. "Speaking of which. Faith's birthday is coming up on the 9th. If you and Kat can show up for that, good a way as any to get introduced."
Elena Gilbert shakes her head, "No way would Katherine let me go even if I had helped, Angel. I'm not sure why but there's a clear reason for us to keep our heads down and out of the attention of others. A party like that is the opposite of what Kat likes." She nods her head about Faith though, "What are you thinking of doing for a party for her?"
Angel considers and, "Yeah, you're right. I doubt the Fae would have any interest in what you represent, but she wouldn't take the chance I'm wrong." Well, probably for the best then. "Well Faith's a party girl, and she tends to like it wild. We'll probably have to do something at a nightclub."
Elena Gilbert doesn't know for sure what she represents, "Not sure about that Angel. I mean I was having dreams of that tree and Lorne seemed a bit rattled but it's not the thing to risk." She nods her head and says, "Could be fun. Keep us posted about Faith's party and we'll see what we ca do."
