Angel and Faith get Cheer Plagued. This leads to a snowball fight.

12/12/2016
Beacon Hills

West Hills North[]

This collection of quiet suburban streets is primarily residential in zone with scattered patches of light commercial properties. The streets make up a generally ordered grid, featuring quaint names like Mountainview Court and Woodbine Lane. This place is the picture of classic small-town American life, made up of reasonably orderly yards and classic two-story houses on mid-sized lots, varied enough to have character but regular enough to feel like cohesive neighborhoods. It seems like a nice, safe place to live, even with the occasional curious call or howl from the nearby forest.

The Beacon Hills Public School occupies the north end of this area, nestled near the highway and bordering the woods. The local animal clinic can be found near the center of the area, just against the long, swooping curve of Circle Street, which separates orderly suburbia from the more widely spaced country houses that border the actual woodlands to the west. Just at that border, the highway separates the town from the forest as one long, winding barrier. To the east, both Northern and Roosevelt Bridge span the East Hills River.

The evening's stars are mostly hidden by dark clouds above. In winter, nighttime temperatures do not generally reach above 35?F. With the coming of winter, the trees are bare of leaves and there's a cold bite to the air. It's cloudy, cold, and damp.

The weather shifts. It is now: blizzard.

Despite all that's going on with glamours and trials and such, there's a surprisingly good mood in the air. As if nothing can go wrong...perhaps because almost everything already did go wrong and it probably can't go much wronger. Or maybe something ELSE is going on. "Faith! Wonderful to see you!" And he hugs his best friend, just like that. Not too long, but still, this sort of...cheer...isn't like him at all...

Faith Lehane acks, and hugs back. "Whoa...tell me, you have some good news, right?" Has to be it, although she's in an inordinately good mood herself.

Good news? "Willow thinks she's got an appropriate weapon conjured up, she's working on getting the fingerprints just right now. Then we can go to court and put it all behind us."

"Good. And then I can be more...careful." She has to be. From now on, she's going to really try. "But for right now, how about we do something more...well...you know. Fun?"

"Fun? Sounds...fun. What shall we do on this snowy night?" Because, naturally, it's also snowing 24/7. Why it's snowing so much is anybody's guess, but it's like California got swapped with Finland or something, for all the snowfall.

"I don't know." A pause. "Are we sure the snow isn't an out of control weather spell?" Of course, she's now contemplating snowballs. And the back of Angel's jacket.

"Well, it did snow in Sunnydale...once. The first was tormenting me then...but the Powers worked a Christmas Miracle of their own, and sent the snow to block the sun. I was walking through the snow covered streets with Buffy...it was wonderful..." Ah, memories...

Faith grins. And then, while Angel is reminiscing? She scoops up a snowball and tosses. Point blank.

Splat. Cold snow has struck Angel. "Somebody just declared Snow War." And then he grabs a snowball and whips one back at his bestie.

Faith Lehane grins, dodges...barely. It actually hits her hair because, well, hair doesn't dodge as fast. Now she's going for rapid fire. "It's snowing. It's Christmas." Therefore...

Can't have that. Angel dodges the initial return fire, and then launches snowballs in different ways. Sometimes fastballs, snow balls, curveballs, anything he might do to throw Faith off enough to tag her. But the really eerie part of this is that he's smiling and having fun like the weight of the world isn't on his shoulders for once.

And she's grinning like...well, like she isn't on the run and having to hide in Beacon Hills. She's always handled the weight of the world in her own sharp, sarcastic way, but this has been wearing her. "Oof!" Snowball to the face.

It's just two people having fun, right? Not two atoners who have horrible things on the conscience endlessly trying to make them right? Well, for tonight, at least, it's all good fun! And Angel smiles, even laughs, as normal people might. A return snowball strikes him in the chest! And it's funny, somehow!

A grin. "Okay...this would be more fun if Eva was here." Of course, she just means they can gang up on Angel. Because, well, Slayer vs. Vampire.

"If Eva were here, Buffy might be here too, then where would you be?" Of course, Angel cheerfully believes Buffy would join his team. Which is not at ALL Guaranteed! The girls may well gang up on the poor lonesome guys with no bros to help.

"Hrm. About where I am now...maybe? No, I'd need a third to keep up with both of you." She's grinning, though.

"Well, I guess you'll have to drag May in or something." 3 on 2 wouldn't be too bad if he had Buffy with him though. Fun sized she may be, but she packs a hell of a wallop. "Or Eva might drag Mikhail in." Who knows? In the meantime, he has to throw a snowball or two!

Laughter. "This is fun. We should do this more often." Of course, that would mean there being snow like this more often. Then again, maybe Willow can conjure some up.

"We should." If only they weren't so morose all the time. Maybe this really would happen more often. "But just us...it's fine this way too." Even without all the others who could, maybe even should be here.
