Special Investigations[]
SFPD's Special Investigations division, better known as "SI," was formed in the wake of a sudden upsurge in paranormal activity that began some years ago. Generally under-funded and poorly supported, SI is tasked with investigating any especially unusual or unexplained cases that slip through the cracks of the other SFPD divisions. SI is currently headed by Karrin Murphy, who has established an unexpectedly strong record of solving such "impossible" cases.
Beacon Hills[]
Law enforcement in Beacon Hills falls under the jurisdiction of the Beacon County Sheriff's Department. It operates much the same as many other sheriff's departments do in California, though it tends to be unusually well-funded, perhaps thanks to donations from wealthy locals. Despite a history of many unsolved disappearances, the department has garnered a reputation for improved results in recent years. The current Beacon County sheriff is Noah Stilinski.
