Those who are blind to the supernatual world would might only know the name of her family from their successful vineyard, and the rich wines they produce.

Ravenna is an outgoing woman, and is always happy to share a drink or a story with those who visit her tasting room. While she is happy to talk about her family and their business, he keeps her personal life to herself. She can become obsessive when she learns the faintest whisper that her brother still might be alive and well, following dead leads until she has no further to go.

SKILLS[]

AWARENESS[]

Novice

Ravenna has always been good at minding her surroundings, at least when she is in nature. She's able to focus herself and keep an eye out for danger. However when she is in a city setting, she is easily distracted by the noises of traffic and other people and has a harder time getting those senses to focus.

CONCENTRATION[]

Competent

Ravenna has always known where her center is, it's something her mentor Lenore instilled in her at a young age. When chaos and crisis are looming, she's able to find that center so she can focus on what needs to be done. Be it a busy day in the tasting room, or things going ary in the Nevernever, if she's able to take the time to focus, she can.

ENDURANCE[]

Competent

While Ravenna has always been on to exercise her mind, she has spent long hours doing manual labor in the vineyard. This has left her with a harty constitution. Being a wizard, she has the ability to recover from phsycial injuries, given enough time passes for her body to fully recover.

FIGHTING[]

Novice

Ravenna hasn't done a lot of fighting, but she has learned basic self defense, something to at least help should her magic ever fail her.

LORE[]

Competent

Ravenna has spent many years studying the arcane, and has several realitives who were more than happy to pass their knowledge around. Granted her knowledge is usually limited to what they've experienced, so she still has more to learn.

RESEARCH[]

Competent

The Adlers boast a long line of White Council Wizards, and with so many of them in the family there have been volumes of journals and research notes left for future generations. The access is limited to what her family has encountered personally, and some of the journals are too old to be handled, but there is a wealth of knowledge that Ravenna looks forward to add her own to.

VINTNER[]

Expert

Ravenna's family has owned their Vineyard for over a century, if there is one thing that she knows more than magic, it's Wine. From growing the vines, tending to the grapes, pressing them into wine, blending, aging, bottling and selling.

POWERS[]

ALCHEMY[]

Basic

Ravenna learned potion making on her aunts insistance, and she knows the basics. While she has a few potions that she knows very well, it wasn't something she perused past her current knowledge.

CHARMS[]

Basic

The upside to having magic are those little spells that get you through the day. They help with cleaning, lighting and all the bonuses that come with having magic. It almost makes up for the inability to use technology.

ENCHANTMENT[]

Enhanced

Ravenna has some talent with enchantment, she's able to make her own foci, and she's able to sheild herself behind a ward when she needs to.

EVOCATION[]

Enhanced

While Ravenna has always attempted to exude control and precision in her magic, there is a part of her that enjoys the magical release of Evocation. She mostly focuses on Air and Earth magics over other elements.

MAGICAL POWER[]

Enhanced

Ravenna is a Talented wizard, though her magic does pack a punch, she's more about controlling it than trying to make the biggest boom. Most of this is her aunts influence, who always taught her that perscise and controlled magic was going to get her further in life over anything else.

SOUL GAZE[]

Enhanced

Being a Wizard, Ravenna has the ability to see into someone's soul if she engages in prolonged eye contact. It's not something she enjoys doing all that often, but it is a great way to judge someone's character! Sadly what she sees is burned into her mind for the rest of her life.

THAUMATURGY[]

Supernatural

Ravenna enjoys taking time with her magic, by buidling her spells and letting them grow in power. Over the years her family have developed rituals to help the Vinyard along, such as rain when it's too dry and fertile soil for healthy crops. She's also has a knack for wards, which are handy for keeping creatures out of places they should not be.

THE SIGHT[]

Enhanced

Wizards have the ability to to use their Third Eye, which allows them to see beyond what is lurking in the shadows. It shows what is truely there; such as demons hiding behind a human face, or that lurking shadow that is more than it appears to be. Traces of magical residue is some times visable but this all comes at a cost. What is seen cannot be unseen, and closing the third eye is sometimes harder than opening it. Ravenna is careful about using the Sight, for fear not being able to stop it, and going mad in the process.

ADVANTAGES[]

FOCI[]

Over the years Ravenna has managed to create several foci for herself. She has one wand, made out of hawthorne, wrapped in dried grape vines that she focuses most of her magic through. She also has necklace of Nuada's sword that she always wears and focuses her air magic through. She has a thick silver bracelet with intracate desides of grapes and their vines that is used to help with her earth magic.

LIBRARY[]

The Adler family has served the White Council for many years, the family has boasted many wizards with varying degrees of achievement. Regardless of what they had done, what they left behind has always been the most useful for Ravenna. Their library houses a collection of books, journals and scrolls that hold centuries worth of knowledge. Unfortunately, some of the older texts are illegible, but they're still nice to have.

WELL CONNECTED FAMILY[]

The Adlers have always been seen in a good light with the White Council. Sure there have been the occasional black sheep, but the family is good about not letting them get too out of control.

WEAKNESSES[]

ADLER FAMILY VALUES[]

There are always unspoken rules in every family, unfortunately for Ravenna, her family is very outspoken. The Adlers have always been concerned with their reputation and boasting a family with out any Dark Wizards. While it may have kept Ravenna on the straight and narrow path magically, she's had trouble following some of the more stricter ideals.

ONE SIDE OF THE COIN[]

Ravenna had a twin brother, and when they were growing up, they were inseperable. Their magic complimented eachother, her weankesses were his strengths. However about a decade ago he went missing after traveling in the Nevernever. Since then Ravenna has always felt as if a part of herself is missing and when stressed will find ways to fill that void.

STUBBORN[]

Perhaps she was indulged too much as a child, but Ravenna has a stubborn streak. There are times she believes she is right and very little will convince her that she isn't. It's usually when things blow up in her face that she realizes she's made an error.

THE COST OF MAGIC[]

There are perks to being a wizard, such as the phenominal cosmic powers, but everything has its downside. Magic does not mix well with technology, even bringing it close to Ravenna will cause it to short out. She has to fine creative ways to enjoy the finer things in life, listening to records on a grammaphone instead of stremaing music, going to open air theaters instead seeing something in IMAX. Even her car is vintage, and older than she is, thankfully she doesn't need it in the big city.

The Adler family found themselves twice blessed one June evening, when a set of twins were born. Ravenna came first who was followed by Tristan, and the both of them were a handful. They were inseparable from birth, even coming up with their own language that they used well into their teens. Their parents, Marcus and Alice Adler, own a vineyard in Napa Valley, that has been in their family for generations. The children grew up among the vines and grape leaves, always eager to help out at harvest time or their favorite activity, stomp on the grapes.

From a very young age they were taught about magic. The both of them could recite the Seven Laws of Magic before they could actually read them. It was a bit of arrogance on their parents doing, assuming that both of them would be wizard, but their diligence paid off and when they both started displaying signs of magic, their learning began in earnest. Ravenna was taught by her Aunt Lenore, a free spirited woman who while not a black sheep family, she had always seemed to get a rise out of everyone. Tristan was left to the care of their Uncle Arthur, who powerful wizard in his own right, and well respected in the White Council, and the family

While Ravenna enjoyed learning magic, and helping around the vineyard, she was also encouraged to have as much of a 'normal childhood' as she was allowed to. She and her brother attended high school, but it became more difficult as the years went on as more and more electronic devices ended up in the hands of teenagers. Instead she spent a lot of time in the family library, absorbing all of the tomes and family journals that lived there.

On their fifteenth birthday, the twins were given a treat, they were allowed into the Nevernever for the first time, and while they were warned of the dangers, they both enjoyed their brief visit, and Tristan became obsessed with going back. So while they both begged their mentors, it was Arthur that gave in and took Tristan on another trip, while Ravenna had to stay home. While it was supposed to be another quick trip, they were both gone for days, and when the portal opened once again, it was only Arthur that emerged. Ravenna was kept in the dark, she was only told that Tristan was gone, and to never speak of him again.

Despite her grieving, Ravenna continued her studies, excelling in Earth and Air magics, as well as Thaumaturgy. While she never really cared for potions, she learned what was used at the Vineyard, and when she came of age, she was allowed to join in the rituals her family performed every year at the harvest. When it came time for her to be tested, it was bittersweet. She remembered those late nights with her brother, toiling over dusty books and dreaming of the day they'd be full wizards. So while she passed, there was still something tugging at her, that space left behind that only filled itself with questions.

For several years, Ravenna stayed under the radar, keeping to herself by honing her magic and studying. When she turned twenty-two, she decided that she wanted to branch out on her own, that it was time to leave the vineyard and it's painful memories behind. So she suggested to her family that they open up a tasting room in San Francisco to better market their wine. It took a year of convincing, but they finally agreed and Ravenna and her Aunt Lenore relocated further south to run the shop. Now that she has a bit of freedom, she has begun to look for her brother.
